Iranian leader says U.S. seeks Israeli victory in Gaza, Lebanon conflicts

TEHRAN, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) — Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei asserted on Wednesday that the United States is invested in an Israeli victory in the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon.
Speaking to a gathering of war veterans and resistance activists in Tehran, Khamenei said the United States is behind the ongoing conflicts, according to a statement published on his official website.
The Iranian leader also dismissed U.S. claims of non-involvement.
“Although the Americans claimed that they were not involved in and informed of what was going on, which is not true, they were both informed and involved, and needed Israel’s victory,” the Iranian leader said.
These statements come amid escalating tensions in the region, with recent Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon and ongoing conflict in Gaza. Iran has been a close ally to both Hamas and Hezbollah. ■
